Fire fans were added to Ase’s arsenal when he forged his own “Man fan style” of fan’s he calls the fire claws. Inspiration Chris Mayo helped Ase create the three pronged custom welded, custom weave around each of the claws. This leaves Ase’s fire claw fire fan the only set like it in existence. Ase now performs with several different kinds of fans, although his favorite will always be his fire claws that started his whole fan adventure.

The history of fan dancing dates back to Asian decent. Geisha fans were the most commonly known and used for traditional dances as well as public and private performances. The originator of the first fire fan is unknown.
